International Guitar Festival Deggendorf

Workshop „Historische Hermann Hauser Gitarren“ Antonia Haslinger from Austria receives the Deggendorf Guitar Award in absentia.

At the Deggendorf Guitar Festival, Antonia Haslinger was honored with the 2nd Deggendorf Guitar Award 2025 – she could not attend in person due to a car accident. Curator Augustin Wiedemann accepted the €1,000 prize on her behalf. He emphasized that the award recognizes not only technical perfection, but also social and cultural commitment. The honor was presented by the Hermann Hauser Foundation and Mayor Christian Moser.

Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists in Weimar

Workshop „Historische Hermann Hauser Gitarren“ 15 prize winners at the 11th Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists in Weimar

The 11th Anna Amalia Competition for Young Guitarists took place in Weimar from March 3 to 6 and concluded with a prize winners’ concert. Over 50 young talents from 19 countries competed in three age categories for prizes totaling 10,000 euros. Especially impressive was 9-year-old Catalina Pires, who captivated both audience and jury with her musical expression and received multiple awards. Numerous prizes and special awards for outstanding interpretations were presented across all age groups. The jury consisted of internationally renowned musicians and educators; the biennial competition is organized by the Gitarreverein Weimar e.V. and supported by various cultural foundations.

Andrés Segovia

Workshop „Historische Hermann Hauser Gitarren“ Andrés Segovia - Pioneer of classical guitar art

Andrés Segovia was a Spanish guitarist who is considered one of the most important classical guitarists of the 20th century. He was born on February 21, 1893 in Linares, Spain, and died on June 2, 1987 in Madrid. Segovia played a decisive role in establishing the classical guitar as a serious concert instrument and contributed significantly to the development of the classical guitar repertoire.
